Image and portfolio consent
How permission is handled before customer garments, stories or before-and-after photographs are used publicly.
Enquiry images are private by default
Photographs or links sent to help assess an enquiry are used for that assessment. Sending them does not grant permission for Kymmy & Co. to publish, advertise with or share them publicly.
Portfolio use requires a separate, voluntary and recorded choice. Declining portfolio consent does not affect whether a suitable enquiry can be considered.
What consent covers
Before publication, Kymmy will identify:
- the image or type of image proposed;
- whether it is a before image, after image or paired comparison;
- where it may appear, such as this website or named social profiles;
- whether the customer’s name, words or story will be used;
- whether the customer or another person is identifiable; and
- how the customer can ask a question or withdraw consent for future use.
Consent to display a garment is not automatically consent to display a person’s face, body, name, home, workplace or event details. Unnecessary identifying details will be removed unless their use is separately agreed.
Children and other people
Kymmy & Co. will not publish an identifiable image of a child without appropriate parent or guardian authority and specific consent. Each identifiable adult must also agree, or the image will be cropped or otherwise prepared so they are not identifiable.
The person giving consent must have authority to permit use of the photograph and any accompanying words.
Safe preparation
Before an approved image is published, Kymmy & Co. will:
- work from a publication copy rather than the private original;
- remove location and other unnecessary metadata;
- inspect the background for mail, addresses, photographs and reflections;
- remove customer contact details, labels and documents;
- use honest captions and avoid deceptive retouching; and
- keep the consent record privately rather than in the public website repository.
Before-and-after images will use clear labels and reasonably comparable framing. They will not imply that every garment can achieve the same result.
Withdrawal and removal requests
You may ask Kymmy & Co. to stop future use of an image through the contact page. Kymmy will stop new use while the request is reviewed and will remove the image from channels she controls where reasonably practical.
Material already shared, cached, copied by another person or used in printed material may not be fully recoverable. Copyright ownership and any photographer licence are separate from customer consent and must permit the proposed use.
